Events and outreach programs

ICDEM 2017 - Department of Emergency Medicine of M.O.S.C Medical College Hospital along with the MOSC College of Nursing in collaboration with Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) organized The International Conference on Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management from 4th to 6th January, 2017 with national and international faculty. A disaster mock drill on mass casualty situation due to ammonia leak was simulated live for the delegates. Hundreds of student and community volunteers participated in this disaster and rescue drill.
 



4th United Nations Road Safety week was observed in collaboration with United Nations, WHO , INDUSEM, EMA, AIIMS – New Delhi, , Puthencruz Police station, MOSC college of nursing and NSS – MOSC  unit from 8th to 14th May, 2017 with the theme “ Save Lives # slow Down”. District police chief AV George IPS inaugurated the function.
 



Mock Drill: Our D Level (ICU) ambulance along with Emergency Medicine team has participated in the mock drill conducted at the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery on 20th September, 2017.
 


EM Genesis 2017 - The Department of Emergency Medicine of M.O.S.C Medical College Hospital, Kolenchery, Ernakulam, Kerala in collaboration with MOSC College of Nursing, Emergency Medicine Association (EMA) of India, IMA- Kolenchery branch and Parinama – MOSC College Union’14 organized the National Level Emergency Medicine Conference – EM Genesis2017 at MOSC Medical College Hospital, Kolenchery on 18th and 19th December, 2017 with national and international faculty.
 



JeevanuOruKaithangu - Basic Emergency Care for School, community - The department is doing various community outreach program in relation to basic emergency care and first aid. Lectures, discussion and hands on training were provided through these outreach programs. The main aim of these programs is to help the community be equipped in handling emergencies, disasters and also create an awareness regarding the need to step in during these situations. Training was provided to general public, school students, college students, NSS volunteers, NCC/SPC cadets, police personals.  

The department has been conducting BLS, ACLS, PALS programs.
